The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old Cameroonian national, Bella Merie, for her alleged involvement in internet fraud and human trafficking.
The arrest took place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at around 9:00 a.m.
at a residence in Kenyasi Abrem, where Merie was found with 43 other Cameroonians-32 males and 11 females-whom she allegedly lured into the country under false pretenses.
According to a statement issued by the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Merie collected a total of 4.5 million CFA Francs from the victims, promising to secure them employment opportunities in Ghana.
