The Minister for Employment, Jobs, and Labour Relations, Rashid Pelpuo, has announced that the government is investigating the recruitment of approximately 12,000 individuals into the public sector by the former Akufo-Addo administration shortly after the 2024 general elections.

Pelpuo disclosed that the mass hiring took place within one to two weeks following the outgoing government's electoral defeat, raising questions about the legitimacy and intent of the appointments.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, the minister revealed that President John Dramani Mahama had constituted a committee to look into the issue, especially in response to complaints from some newly employed individuals who claim to have been unfairly dismissed. "The President has set up a committee to investigate all those who are alleging unfair dismissals.
