In a recent interview on the current affairs program Atumpan on AsaasePa 107.3, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, cast doubt on the government's claim that the seized gold bars and foreign currencies, including US dollars, were counterfeit.

According to Kodua, the government's narrative, particularly their claim of counterfeit currencies, does not align with the findings from the ongoing investigation. "The gold bars and the dollars are not fake," Kodua asserted. "They thought the warehouse belonged to an NPP member, but their investigations proved otherwise-that it belonged to an NDC member, and they know.

That's why they're saying the currencies are fake." Kodua also pointed out a crucial detail from the investigation, saying that the currencies found in the warehouse were contained in Bank of Ghana boxes.

He continued, "These are currencies contained in Bank of Ghana boxes, which they admit.
