Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu, has pointed to the lack of a dedicated funding source as a major barrier to the completion of the abandoned Kumasi Krofrom Market.

The call for the market's completion has been growing among residents of the Ashanti Region.

The project, which started under former President John Agyekum Kufuor's administration, has stalled for years, turning the site into a hotspot for criminal activities.

On Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Tuesday, April 8, the Manhyia North MP explained that the market was initially intended to be completed within 18 months to alleviate congestion at the Kejetia Market.
