Dr Kenneth Ashigbey, Convener of the Ghana Coalition Against Galamsey, has called on Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak to reverse the government's policy of deporting foreign nationals involved in illegal mining, commonly referred to as galamsey.

This follows Muntaka's emphasis on the government's resolve to immediately deport foreign nationals found engaging in the illegality.

Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Monday April 7, Ashigbey criticised the policy as both legally flawed and discriminatory.

He expressed his concerns about the policy's implications, stating, "This policy is so bad that I am happy that today you've taken time to take viewers through why it is bad.
