Officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at Bunkpurugu district in the North East Region have intercepted a cocoa beans smuggling attempt to neighbouring Togo.
The Bunkprugu Sector Command on Sunday, April 7, at about 10 pm confiscated twenty-five (25) bags of cocoa beans being smuggled from Kauk, a border community to Togo via an unapproved route.
According to the command, the OIC and his Operations Commander, upon a tip-off quickly mobilized eight other officers to the said village to lay ambush where the interception took place.
