National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) last week for attempted drug smuggling.
The student, identified as Osei Parker Darren Hazekia, was arrested with over 19.4 kilos of a high-grade strain of cannabis informally known as 'loud', while attempting to transit through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Abuja.
NDLEA officers discovered the University of East London Computer Science student's stash while carrying out routine screening of passengers arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, on Ethiopian Airlines.
A search carried out in his luggage uncovered the drugs, which were concealed in the lining of his 'oversized travel bag', according to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi.
