The 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate for the Movement for Change, Kwame Owusu Danso, has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over recent allegations of drug trafficking and money smuggling at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
Speaking in an interview on TV3, Kwame Owusu Danso accused the NPP of seeking to remain relevant after losing public trust. "What the NPP is doing now is trying to gain relevance and establishing their relevance even after they have lost the elections," he said.
The NPP had alleged that two aircraft at KIA were carrying cocaine and large sums of money.
However, Owusu Danso found it strange that the party would expect the government to provide evidence for claims they initiated. "How is that you are alleging that two aircrafts contained thereof are cocaine and money and yet you are expecting the government to come and provide evidence to the allegations that you are making. "Does it make sense to you?" he questioned. He further described the actions of the NPP as hypocritical. "I think that the hypocrisy must end because there's no scintilla of truth in what Rev Ntim Fordjour is doing," Owusu Danso said.
