Media General's TV3 is facing widespread backlash from Ghana's creative community after a clip from their show 3Xtra went viral for what many have described as a disrespectful and unprovoked jab at Ghanaian artists. The controversial moment occurred during a question-and-answer segment on the show, where a guest was asked to name Ghanaian musicians he believed had a chance of winning a Grammy.
His response stunned viewers and infuriated industry players."I don't think there's any artist for now," the guest replied. "Maybe in the future, God might be on our side." Things escalated when he was specifically asked about one of Ghana's most decorated rapper, Sarkodie.
His response? "Naaa, I think his career is dead." The video quickly spread across social media, sparking outrage among musicians, actors, and media personalities, many of whom accused the platform of promoting negativity for views and engagement.
Award-winning singer Efya was among the first to voice her disapproval.
