MyNewsGh.com has obtained shocking details of how some soldiers numbering Seven(7) went on a rampage, arrested and tortured suspected mobile phone thieves at Asafo BB in Kumasi leading to the death of two while the other is still battling for his life.
According to sources to this portal, the incident occurred on Thursday March 27, 2025 when a female civilian (name withheld) had her phone stolen by three guys from her car at Adum in Kumasi. A lead was given as to where she could find the phone at Asafo BB, about 300 meters from Adum, where it was stolen. Before she got there, the suspected thieves had sold the phone to another person at Ghc3,000 and the buyer was unwilling to part with the stolen phone until his money is paid in full.
In view of the fact she did not have enough money with her, she offered to top up with Ghc500 and managed to retrieve her phone on Friday morning 28th March and left happily for Accra.
Later that afternoon around 1pm, a military patrol vehicle (Toyota Hilux) showed up with Seven (7) heavily armed soldiers led by one Lieutenant of Achiase Jungle Warfare.
