Efforts are underway to replace the vandalized statue of former President at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital roundabout in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis of the Western Region.
The replacement initiative is being spearheaded by Prophet Elija Joshua, founder of the Glory and Dominion Ministry, who has personally funded the construction of a new statue.
The preacher, who also contested as an independent parliamentary candidate for the Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira Constituency in the December 2024 general elections, says the move is in fulfillment of a promise he made after unknown individuals destroyed the original monument earlier this year.
Speaking on Connect FM, Prophet Joshua revealed that he has already paid GH¢40,000 to a sculptor to begin work on the new statue.
