Independent Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has stated that the culture of silence under the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by former President Akufo-Addo, was so intense that even the powerful King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was very cautious when criticizing that administration.

According to A Plus, a controversial musician-turned-politician, the King chose to critique the former administration's flagship programme only after it had left power. "I am not an Ashanti, but I revere the Asantehene because of the way he has been able to hold the Ashanti Kingdom together and ensure that there are no chieftaincy disputes in his jurisdiction.

God bless him for that.

I have so much respect for Otumfuo.
