The Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the transportation of electricity cables believed to belong to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to the police in a post on X (formerly Twitter), the suspects, Mohammed Sulemana and Iddrisu Basit, are both drivers' mates of an articulated truck.
The police said the suspects were apprehended on April 1, 2025, at Gomoa Awombrew in the Central Region.
The truck, registered GC 7410-11, was found loaded with 28 rims of ECG cables and parked at Gomoa Awombrew.
