Former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has rejected reports suggesting that over 1,300 containers belonging to the company are missing.
Instead, Mahama has expressed optimism that the containers may have been misplaced or relocated to different terminals within the Tema Port, stating that there is still a chance for them to be found.
The controversy began when an investigative committee was established to probe the disappearance of the containers, which were part of a larger shipment meant for ECG's operations across the country.
According to the committee's findings, out of a total of 2,491 containers that were imported, a staggering 1,357 were declared missing.
