Tax analyst, Francis Timore Boi has indicated that the repeal of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) is expected to take effect at midnight on April 3, 2025.
His comments follow President John Dramani Mahama's recent assent to a series of bills, including the controversial E-Levy repeal.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, he explained that tax law implementations in Ghana generally take effect immediately after official gazetting and notification by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). "The practice in Ghana is that, when the gazette is done and the GRA receives the gazette notification, it will normally happen by midnight.
These are systems that are used to collect taxes.
