Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has introduced the National Integrity Awards, an initiative aimed at recognizing individuals who uphold ethical conduct, transparency, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. Announcing the initiative before Parliament adjourned indefinitely, Bagbin highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of accountability and integrity across Ghana."The National Integrity Award scheme is a crucial step in promoting integrity in the country by recognising and honouring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to ethical conduct, transparency, and the fight against corruption.
By this initiative, we aim to inspire a national movement where integrity is not only expected but desired and rewarded," he stated.
In addition to celebrating individuals of high moral standards, Bagbin introduced the "Vulture Award", which will be used to expose and shame corrupt public officials. "Apart from the National Integrity Award that will be given to men and women of integrity, there will also be what is termed the Vulture Award, which will be bestowed upon individuals considered to have the lowest levels of integrity in the country," he explained.
