Ahmed Ibrahim has emphasized the need for a structured and non-partisan approach to resolving chieftaincy disputes, stressing that such matters should not be politicized.

Speaking on Starr FM, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs announced plans to establish a dedicated committee to handle chieftaincy issues beyond the existing judicial committees. "We are going to set up a committee beyond empowering the judicial committees to handle these cases.

It must be non-partisan because chieftaincy issues should not be politicized," he stated.

He also underscored the importance of enforcing established lines of succession to ensure a smooth transition of leadership when a chief passes. "We must enforce established lines of succession so that when a chief passes, there is a clear and legally recognized process to determine the next chief," he added.
