One person has died, while another has been left injured following a devastating fire which swept through a 7-bedroom house at Nima, in Accra.  According to a report by TV3, the fire began on the morning of March 31, 2025, as residents were getting ready for the Eid festivities.

An eyewitness, who is also a resident of the house, said the fire started around 5:30 am after an active gas cylinder was left unattended to.   The resulting 3-hour fire led to the destruction of properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis.  A young individual who was trying to help salvage some properties during the inferno accidentally ran into x live wires and was electrocuted to death.  Another individual who had gone to retrieve the body of the deceased also got injured and was rushed to the hospital, the report said.
