President has called for peace in Bawku as Muslims across the country celebrate Ramadan.
He also urged the residents of the conflict-prone area to embrace unity and reconciliation, as Ramadan is a period for both.
Speaking at the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration organised by the National Chief Imam at the Black Star Square in Accra on March 31, 2025, the president said, "As we celebrate this Ramadan, I urge my brothers and sisters in Bawku to give peace a chance.
Ramadan is a time for togetherness." President Mahama explained that the sacred month of Ramadan offers an opportunity for reflection, urging all sides to embrace the values of love, forgiveness, and harmony.
