Ashanti Regional Security Council has marked some 50 hotspots in the Ashanti Region ahead of the 2024 General elections. The Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Security Council, Simon Osei Mensah said the flashpoints are located in all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the region. Speaking at the Akoma 87.9 FM in Kumasi version of the launch of Election Command Centre, Simon Osei Mensah noted that the flashpoints identified would receive extra vigilance on the day of election to prevent any form of violence. "We are working to give extra focus to these flashpoints, so that nothing untoward would happen on the election day", he stated. Mr Mensah said security has been beefed up in the region in the round up the December polls. He pointed out that, the security in the region have undergone the necessary training to enable them to deliver their duties effectively during the election period.
