Dr Kabiru Tiah Mahama, Member of Parliament for the Walewale Constituency, has criticized the insufficient funding allocated to the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) and the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC).
He argued that the GHC 28 million and GHC 16 million budget allocations fall short of the capital injection needed in the sector.
Dr Mahama, however, expressed support for the proposed budget approval of GH₵1,817,449,639.00 for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for the year ending 31st December 2025.
He highlighted that the committee's report includes provisions for the payment of outstanding wages to the country's youth who have rendered services under the Youth in Afforestation Programme.
