The Kumasi NPP parliamentary Bloc has blamed the numerous challenges facing Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, on poor management and ineffective governance structures.
According to the group, there was the need for significant overhaul of the management of the city, to help create a conducive environment for both businesses and residents to thrive, free from the constraints of partisan interests.
Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye, chairman of the bloc, who made the call, blamed the recent devastating fire outbreak in Adum, Kumasi, on poor management of the city.
He was speaking at a forum organised by the caucus as part of its outreach programme, to educate members of the public on issues currently going at the chamber of parliament.
