President has launched the highly anticipated Accra-Tema Motorway extension project. The groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on Monday, 26 August 2024, marks the official start of this major infrastructure initiative. In his address, President Akufo-Addo commended the motorway for its longstanding role in Ghana's progress since its commissioning by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1965. "The motorway currently carries an average of 45,000 vehicles per day, underscoring its crucial role in our nation's development," the President highlighted. He stressed the importance of modernizing the motorway to meet the evolving needs of Ghana's growing population and future generations.
