Renowned Ghanaian hiplife artiste Mzbel has shared her thoughts on never receiving an award, despite maintaining a strong presence in the music industry for 20 years. Mzbel, who rose to fame in 2004 with her debut album Awoso Me, was one of the most recognized female artistes of her era.
Her music gained widespread popularity not only in Ghana but other parts of the world.
While she appreciates the recognition she received from these countries, she believes her contributions have not been fully acknowledged in Ghana.Speaking on a recent episode of Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM, the '16 Years' hitmaker expressed her disappointment over the lack of industry recognition, particularly never receiving an award throughout her 20-year music career. "I have been in the industry for 20 years; I've never received any award," she stated.
Reflecting on her career journey, Mzbel admitted that if given the opportunity to start over, she would focus more on branding and strategic career development. "I am not blaming anybody.
