The President of the Ghana Association of Banks, Kwamina Asomaning, has stressed the importance of continuous ethical training in the banking sector, highlighting the constant pressures bankers face and the critical need to uphold trust.

He emphasized that while banks already have ethics programs, more needs to be done to reinforce moral integrity among staff. "I mean, all banks have ethics programs that they've rolled out to their staff.

But ethics is an area where you cannot have too much of, because of the temptations you face daily, the pressures from customers, from other parties, from family members-it's excessive," he stated in an interview on Joy Prime.

Asomaning pointed out that ethical training should go beyond mere compliance requirements, as the integrity of the banking sector depends on it. "So being reminded of the need to constantly maintain that high moral line is extremely important.
