The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a British national, Naomi Mbelu, for attempting to smuggle cannabis through Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
Mbelu, who arrived in Accra on March 22, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., was intercepted after disembarking from Ethiopian Airlines Flight 921.
She had travelled from Bangkok, Thailand, with a layover in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Upon screening, NACOC officials discovered 41 black polythene-sealed packages in her luggage, which later tested positive for cannabis.
