The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has strongly condemned the Akufo-Addo government for its "insensitivity" towards the victims of the Akosombo dam spillage. He stated that the government has neglected the victims and failed to provide them with adequate accommodation. Ablakwa criticized the government for misplacing its priorities, highlighting the significant amount of money invested in the All African Games while neglecting the Akosombo dam spillage victims. During an interview with Selorm Adonoo on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Ablakwa emphasized the need for a reset under the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration. He accused the NPP government of lacking compassion and empathy for the vulnerable in society, adding that the touted economic rebound has not translated into tangible improvements in people's lives.
