Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim has justified ongoing investigations involving former officials of the erstwhile NPP administration, addressing concerns over alleged home raids and arrests.

Speaking on TV3's New Day on Thursday, she noted that due process was being followed in the government's bid to demand accountability. "I'm yet to get to the office to receive a full briefing on the matter, but what I can say is that there are some actions going on, there are some investigations ongoing, there are persons of interest who will be now and again invited to help the investigation process," she stated.

She further explained that gathering information requires various methods, including visiting the residences of individuals identified as persons of interest. "There are means of gathering information, and one of the means is to visit the homes of these persons of interest," she said.

Her comments come amid mounting criticism from the opposition, with accusations that the government's actions amount to political persecution.
