Media personality and broadcaster with GHOne TV and Starr FM, Lily Mohammed, is advocating for the implementation of a shoot-to-kill policy on illegal miners, popularly known as galamseyers, if that is what it takes to stop them from destroying water bodies.

According to the outspoken journalist, galamseyers must be ruthlessly dealt with, as their activities have dire consequences for both human life and the environment.

Speaking on GHOne TV, Lily Mohammed said the time has come for the state government to crack the whip on galamseyers, adding that the nation cannot afford to lose its water bodies to illegal mining. "When it comes to the fight against galamsey, our destiny lies in our hands as Ghanaians.

If it is necessary to shoot and kill those destroying our water bodies, I subscribe to it.
