Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, John Darko, has condemned the arrest of media personality Okatakyie Afrifa, expressing serious concerns about the motives and tactics used by national security.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM's Eyewitness News, Darko expressed his disappointment with the explanation provided for Afrifa's detention.

According to him, the justification that Afrifa was arrested to assist in the fight against illegal mining, or "galamsey," is both questionable and troubling. "What was the basis for arresting Okatakyie Afrifa?" Mr.

Darko questioned. "After threatening him with handcuffs, after arresting him, keeping him in national security custody for over three hours or four hours, we are told that he was supposed to help the national security to fight galamsey.
