The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally referred former Member of Parliament and Minister of State, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee for allegedly violating party directives.

In a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP cited Adwoa Safo's recent media comments, particularly on The Pulse Show on Joy News, as a breach of a directive that forbids members from discussing party matters that could cause "disaffection, unrest, and negativism" in public forums.

The directive was issued to all party members to ensure unity and discipline as the NPP seeks to rebuild.

However, according to the statement, Adwoa Safo's public utterances directly contravene this order, thereby undermining the party's efforts. "As a former Member of Parliament, former Deputy Majority Leader, and former Minister of State under the erstwhile NPP government, she was expected to set a good example and adhere to the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity that have always defined our great party," the statement read.
