Ghana has been ranked as the 125th happiest country in the world, and 19th in Africa, in a surprising 2025 World Happiness Report.
Ghana, with a score of 4.340 on the World Happiness Index, was ranked below 18 other African countries, including known conflict zones such as Somalia and Chad, and neighbors Nigeria, Benin, and Burkina Faso.
The ranking was a drop from 2024, when Ghana was ranked the 120th happiest country in the world.
Ghana has steadily dropped in the rankings since 2021, when it peaked at 91st in the world with a Happiness Index score of 5.148.
