Nana Yaa Jantuah, a Presidential Staffer at the Office of the Presidency, has raised concerns about the Office of the Special Prosecutor's decision to allow former Minister of Finance, , to appear before it on June 2, 2025, despite previously declaring him a fugitive.

On February 12, 2025, the OSP officially labelled Ofori-Atta as a wanted fugitive after it said it had made repeated attempts to secure his presence for an investigation proved futile.

During a press conference, the OSP said that Ofori-Atta had been informed he was a suspect in connection with four related cases and was requested to appear in person on February 10, 2025.

The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, further disclosed that Ofori-Atta's legal counsel had communicated that the former minister was out of the country indefinitely due to medical reasons.
