Leader of the Minority Caucus in Parliament has provided details into an attempted arrest by operatives of the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) of the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Ernest Kumi.

On March 7, 2025, attempts by NIB operatives to effect an arrest of the 's MP in his constituency proved futile following heavy resistance from constituents and supporters of the lawmaker.

The attempted arrest was related to a bench warrant issued by the Koforidua High Court for contempt, citing his defiance of an injunction on his swearing-in.

Speaking on the incident, Afenyo-Markin stated that security operatives raided Ernest Kumi's constituency and allegedly subjected him to harassment.
