Sudan assistant coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu and Kwesi Appiah Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah is determined to achieve a remarkable feat by leading Sudan to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Appiah, who guided Ghana to the 2014 World Cup, views this as a significant breakthrough if he can secure World Cup qualification for the North African nation. Sudan have accumulated three wins and one draw, totalling 10 points, as they currently hold a two-point lead over Senegal, who are second in the group with eight points. "Reaching the World Cup would be a tremendous boost for the development of football in the country. It would simplify administrative processes and potentially transform the lives of my players," Appiah said to FIFA in a recent interview. "At present, there are only two professionals in the squad. World Cup participation could inspire them to pursue careers in Europe and change their perspective on their potential.
