The Member of Parliament for Kintampo North constituency and Vice Chairman of the Education Committee of Parliament, Joseph Kwame Kumah, has criticized the former government for failing to address the weaknesses associated with the program.
Providing details of the (NDC) government's plans for the program, he highlighted that the government has done an exhaustive assessment of the initiative and will implement measures to address the shortfalls.

Kumah pointed out that the erstwhile (NPP) government's obsession with achieving political advantage with Free SHS blinded them from addressing the issues that undermined the quality of second-cycle education in the country.
