The counsel for Daniel Owusu Koranteng, the lead suspect in the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, has accused the Ghana Police Service of witch-hunting his client.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Kofi Essel described the arrest and subsequent remand of his client in connection with the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale as an attempt by the Ghana Police Service to advance someone's career within the force.

He further emphasised that his client is being used as a scapegoat in the case, stressing his strong resolve to fight such attempts, seek justice for his client, and ensure that the law prevails. "It is just for someone's career to shoot up and someone has to go down and that is what they are doing.

It is just a mere witch-hunting and we will deal with it in the law court.
