Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has won an $18 million defamation lawsuit against former Ghanaian MP Kennedy Agyapong in the United States.

The verdict, delivered by a jury in Essex County, New Jersey, comes after Kennedy Agyapong and media personality Frederick Asamoah were accused of making false and damaging claims about Anas during an episode of The Daddy Fred Show.

Among the allegations were accusations that Anas was a criminal, a thief, and responsible for the murder of fellow journalist Ahmed Suale, who was killed in 2019 after the release of the Number 12 documentary on corruption in Ghanaian football.
