The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has reflected on the party's significant loss in the 2024 elections, identifying key factors that contributed to the defeat.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Tuesday, Mustapha categorised the challenges into three main areas: voter apathy, the economic crisis, and internal party inefficiencies. "You cannot analyse the results without acknowledging that the numbers speak volumes.

Apathy was a very huge factor, the economic crisis we went through is another, and then, of course, the party itself as a machine," Mustapha explained.

He emphasised that these three broad categories, combined with other peripheral issues, played a critical role in the party's performance.
