President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised the importance of establishing a Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation between Ghana and Sierra Leone.

Speaking during his official visit to Sierra Leone, Mahama highlighted the commission as a vital institutional framework to enhance collaboration between the two nations. "One of the most important points we agreed on was to establish the permanent joint commission for cooperation as quickly as possible so that it becomes the institutional framework for us to build our cooperation on," Mahama stated.

He outlined key areas of focus for the partnership, including agriculture and food security, power and electricity, and education and exchange programs.

Mahama also stressed the significance of working together to strengthen the West Africa power pool, which would benefit the region as a whole.
