Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government's 2025 budget, calling it incoherent and misaligned with its core policies.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Tuesday, Nkrumah pointed out several inconsistencies in the budget's formulation and its alignment with the NDC's stated objectives. "First of all, the finance minister brings two documents in one to Parliament.
He brings the economic policy of the government for the whole year and then attaches to it the numbers-that is what we call the budget," he explained.
He stressed that economic policy should be drawn from a coordinated programme of social and economic policies, as mandated by Article 36(5) of the Constitution.
