The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), , has outlined five key social interventions to alleviate the current economic hardships and protect the vulnerable if the party wins the 2024 polls. Speaking at the launch of the 2024 NDC Manifesto at Winneba, in the Central Region, on Saturday, August 24, Mahama emphasized that the NDC will prioritize the stabilization of the Ghana cedi and the macro economy through an urgent economic recovery program designed to bolster foreign reserves. Additionally, the party plans to roll out a $10 billion "Big Push" policy focused on strategic infrastructural development to drive sustainable economic growth and transformation. He stated that the five (5) major free initiatives that Ghanaians will benefit from are: No-Academic-Fee Policy for all first-year students in public tertiary institutions under the "No-Fees-Stress" initiative: This is part of a government initiative to lessen the burden on parents financing the cost of their children's education. Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) The National Democratic Congress has promised to offer free tertiary education for people living with disabilities if the party wins the 2025 elections.
