After a long period of silence on political matters, Adwoa Safo has finally addressed allegations surrounding her role in the controversial Speaker of Parliament election.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM monitored by MyNewsGh, she firmly denied claims that she voted against Professor Mike Oquaye, the NPP's preferred candidate, in favour of the NDC's Alban Bagbin. "I want to make it clear that I did not vote against Mike Oquaye," Safo stated.
She explained that before the vote, she had already informed then-Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu of her decision.
However, she accused him of betraying her by suggesting that she had supported Bagbin instead.
