The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has likened the 24-hour economy policy to the shift system being implemented under the Free SHS program. According to him, the policy as espoused by the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama seeks to increase job opportunities and extend working hours for businesses, industries, and institutions while operating around the clock. The NPP has, however, criticized the policy, challenging the NDC on its implementation strategy. But speaking at Pokrom in the Akuapem South constituency of the Eastern region as part of his nationwide campaign to garner votes for the NDC, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said members of the NPP have deliberately refused to understand the 24-hour economy policy.
