Ghanaian musician King Paluta has officially petitioned the board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) regarding the absence of his hit track Makoma from this year's nominations.
In a statement issued by his management and dated March 18, 2025, the artist is seeking clarification as to why the song was not considered, despite its massive success.
According to the statement, Makoma was duly submitted for nomination in the following categories: Most Popular Song of the Year Record of the Year Hiplife Song of the Year Songwriter of the Year (King Paluta) However, when the nominee list was announced last weekend, the song was missing from all these categories.
This has prompted his management to demand a reasonable and tangible explanation from the TGMA board, as they believe the song was among the biggest in Ghana under the year of review.
