Seven students at Labone Senior High School were barred from participating in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Monday, August 26, 2024, due to tardiness. School authorities noted that this was the second instance the students had arrived late for their exams. The incident came to light during a visit by the Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, who was at the school to monitor the examination's progress and extend his best wishes to the candidates. In an interview with Citi News, the Headmistress of Labone Senior High School, Rejoice Akua Acorlor, expressed concern over the repeated lateness, emphasising that the students had been thoroughly briefed on the exam's rules and regulations.
