A tragic incident in Bawku has claimed the life of a military officer from the 11 Mechanised Battalion.
The officer reportedly left his station without his uniform and traveled to another location, where he was confronted and fatally attacked by gunmen.
The shooting occurred on Monday, March 17, 2025, in the Kpalore-Avengo area within Bawku township, an enclave plagued by ongoing tensions.
Since the resurgence of conflict in October 2024, the town has remained on edge, with residents isolating themselves based on their areas of residence.
