Former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Akua Djanie Blakofe, has called for the removal of all signposts in Ghana that contain Chinese inscriptions.

According to Blakofe, Ghana, as a West African country, should reflect its identity accordingly.

In her view, English, as the official language of the country, should continue to be used instead of Chinese.

She added that until languages such as Twi, Ewe, Ga, or Dagbani are officially adopted as national languages, English should remain the default.
