A former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has criticised former President 's pledge to reset the Ghanaian economy. The private legal practitioner posited that the economy of Ghana is not a wristwatch that will require a reset. Former President and flagbearer of the (NDC), , has reiterated that the party's 2024 manifesto launch on Saturday, August 24, 2024, marks the first step to resetting the economy.
"It also marks the first step towards resetting our dear nation, Ghana," he said in a brief promotional video released a day ahead of the manifesto launch at the University of Education, Winneba, Central Region. Mr. Mahama promised to restore Ghana's economy through a series of measures, including a national economic dialogue, tax rationalisation, and emergency measures to stabilise the Ghana cedi.
