President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), ushering in a seasoned law enforcement leader with over 40 years of dedicated service to Ghana's security landscape.

COP Yohuno, until his appointment, served as Deputy Inspector-General of Police, where he was instrumental in shaping the operational and strategic direction of the Ghana Police Service.

His remarkable career, which began in 1985 as a police recruit, is a testament to decades of commitment, leadership, and strategic acumen.

A career rooted in leadership and innovation Rising steadily through the ranks, Yohuno has held key leadership positions, including six Director-General roles overseeing vital portfolios such as Administration, Special Duties, Motor Traffic and Transport, Intelligence, Special Operations, and General Operations.
